Katie Swedrock grew up in Rochester, New York. She did her undergraduate studies there and received a Bachelors degree in biology with a minor in chemistry from the State University of New York at Geneseo. She moved to Arizona to study Naturopathic Medicine at Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine. Her studies were focused in homeopathy and botanical medicine. She even spent two weeks as both a student and a resident at GAIA herb farm in Asheville, NC extending her knowledge of herbal medicine. After graduation she was accepted into a very competitive residency program at Southwest Naturopathic Medical Center in addition to achieving board certification and licensing as a primary care physician in the state of Arizona. After completing that training in family practice medicine with an emphasis in Homeopathy, she then continued on as adjunct faculty teaching a class in Hydrotherapy as well as clinical rotations. She also started her own practice in Gilbert, Arizona focusing in family practice medicine.
After a year of practicing, she moved to Miami Beach and formed a Natural Health Consulting company to serve the needs of southeast Florida. She is contracted with a food allergy lab as a health consultant and is adjunct faculty for the alternative medicine program at Everglades University in Boca Raton. She is a member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians and the Florida Association of Naturopathic Physicians. Her hobbies include running, gardening, and scuba diving.
